A true TRINBAGONIAN, born in Sangre Grande  on Sunday April 09 1978, spending his early years in Toco, before attending school in Tobago,  Andrew “Big Drew” Ewing can best be described as an ultra expressive lyricist, capable of creating verbal imagery. Out to set his own unique stamp on the music world, which is made very evident by his signature catch phrase, "I COULD NEVER BE YOU" With a wide variety of musical influences spanning different genres of music, the likes of Jim Reeves, Shadow, Bob Marley, The Roaring Lion, Lord Kitchener, Dean Martin, Singing Francine, Kenny Rogers, Lord Funny, Dennis Brown, Ras Shorty I, Garnet Silk, The Mighty Sparrow, Calypso Rose, it is very easy to see why he has no wish to be labeled under any one particular category.  However, if asked he will quickly let you know that his biggest influential factor/ role model is his mother. Unlike most artist, Drew will not hesitate to tell you that his infatuation with music did not really take hold until after having migrated from Trinidad & Tobago, to his current place of residence Miami, Florida back in 1996.  It was while attending college Drew began to develop his musical skills by enrolling in his schools choir as a baritone.  Having already been an active writer of poetry from his high school days, it was only a natural progression for him to fuse the two talents together to reveal the ‘Superman' to his Clark Kent persona, a.k.a. “Big Drew”.  Drew began recording and releasing tracks in the Miami area in 1998, by the year 2000 having a few releases under his belt, he earned himself the title of “Lyrical Prime Minister” of Miami.  Due to his ability to adapt and be receptive to different genres of music he has earned himself the opportunities to record with Hip-Hop and R&B artists the likes of Mr. Cheeks, Mashonda, Stat Quo, and Paperview to name a few.  In 2003, he enjoyed a brief stint in rotation in Trinidad with his song “Role Call” on the Ransom Riddim, on which he also leant his lyricist skills to pen four other tracks on the Riddim.  Fast forward to the year 2006, because of his love for his land of birth, Drew got together with talented producer and fellow TrinBagonian and resident Floridian, Borne DJ to produce his socially conscious number “Gunplay”.
Again, with his flair for verbal imagery, Drew sought to address the state of affairs in his native land on “Gunplay” with a call to ‘Put down the gun'.  “Gunplay” was released in November 2006, and would serve as the foundation for the introduction of Big Drew to Trinidad & Tobago.  Heading into the 2007 Carnival season, Drew would go on to release  the hit single "Soca Music" on the Soca Strings Riddim which would go on to receive regional recognition throughout the Caribbean, and eventually International recognition making it into rotation on the Alex Jordan show on BBC 1Xtra. Heading into 2008, Drew currently has four offerings to be unleashed on the public at large enjoying healthy rotation on www.TheFrontlineRadio.com , namely "Burning"  a socially conscious number on a catchy beat produced by Blade  (www.myspace.com/irontraxmusic), the mid tempo grove trilogy that is 3 D Hardway; "Waistline  Thumper",  "Carnival Time",  "Bang-Bang", three tracks produced by   JusShane (www.myspace.com/ jusshaneproductionz ), which serve to show Drew's lyrical dexterity creating three different musical vibes all on the same beat.  So as he said in "Soca Music", GET FAMILIAR, and be on the lookout for the signature catch phrase "I COULD NEVER BE YOU".
